Passcode: %4u2+pvpIn this scenario, I evaluated an ankle sprain over Zoom. I feel like I did a good job for the most part, but I need to work on my eye contact and facial expressions. While in person, this is not an issue, over the internet, my interactions do not seem as personable as I actually am. My partner, Rachel, evaluated me for a concussion. She did a great job performing an evaluation over Zoom.

Coaching Comments: Great Job! In terms of telehealth this was fantastic, make sure when evaluating a concussion that you ask all symptoms, especially if this is the first encounter for this condition with this patient.
Brynne JonesParticipant1. The Telehealth format I would use for athletic training is videoconferencing. This would allow demonstrations of new rehab exercises and corrections of previously assigned exercises.
2. For videoconferencing I would need a computer (with a webcam) or a laptop, a strong internet connection, and wired headphones with a microphone.
3. The population that this would benefit the most is the athletic population.
4. Currently as an ATS, I would be assisting the ATC with providing care to patients online.
5. To ensure program effectiveness I would determine: patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and cost-effectiveness (for both patients and providers).
6. Legal factors that need to be considered are HIPAA compliance, ensuring it is covered under state practice acts, and ensuring the patients are informed and have obtained consent from the patient and in cases of working with minors, at least one parent or guardian.
7. Other professions that could/should be involved are PT, Ortho, and a team physician.
8. The protocol I would strive to develop would be a standardization protocol, especially for evaluations and rehabilitation protocols.
9. The best way to ensure the patient is consenting is having them sign a consent form. In the case of working with minors, this would need to be signed by a parent. -
