• We will be using is “videoconferencing” as our telehealth model. The use of Audio and Visual is needed so that our providers can observe the physical state of the patient due to our telehealth program being a telesane program.
• The equipment we will be using is videoconferencing equipment. So webcams, laptops, and some specialized equipment such as EVA devices.
• We will be addressing the needs of the hospitals in this area’s nursing staff. There is a lack of SANE nurses in the area, so we will be using telesane to address the needs of the hospital in these specific cases.
• I will serve as IT support for the nurses involved on the telesane side as opposed to the IT staff at the hospital side.
• We will be evaluating patient perception of care and provider perception of providing telesane care as well as provider perception working with a telesane nurse.
• The legal consideration we need to address are HIPAA concerns, as well as the legality of telemedicine within our state, and the use of telemedicine conducted exams in the courtroom if things go that far with cases.
• Not sure on this part, as the coordination of the program is a little beyond me
• We would need to create protocols for confidentiality, alerting of other social wellfare entities in the case of emerging issues, computer security protocols.
• Verbal consent would be used for every person involved.
