    1. I assessed a lateral ankle sprain. I had the patient describe their mechanism of injury, I performed a casual gait analysis, had them rate their pain, I had them palpate their ankle, I asked them to visit my office to pick up a set of crutches to offload their injured ankle, and I referred them for imaging. The patient is being referred to an orthopedic physician for a more advanced evaluation and diagnostic imaging. If their was a medical professional with the patient that was trained on how to use diagnostic ultrasound, they would be able to provide a more advanced evaluation of the ankle.

    3. Forrest did a good job of screening me for a concussion with what was available and able to be done over a video call. Asking me about the dimmed lights and evaluating where I was feeling pain were good approaches to the patient case.

    1. I would select videoconferencing because it would be the most beneficial for a athletic training practice. Being able to see the patient, see their injury, show them how to test themselves to get to a conclusion are all easier with videoconferencing.
    2. I would use either a laptop, tablet, or a computer with a webcam. Ideally, I would be able to have multiple screens so I can document on my EMR of choice while in a video call with a patient.
    3. I think the population that would be appropriate for telehealth would be patients who are post-surgery or post-rehab and they need simple check-ins on their progress. I would want to have seen them in person before I think telehealth check-ins are appropriate.
    4. I would be conducting the check-in and guide them through any necessary evaluations.
    5. At the end of telehealth appointments, I would like to ask the patient if they thought the care was adequate and if there is anything I can improve on in the future.
    6. I would comply with HIPAA guidelines when considering the patient’s privacy. I would make sure all forms of data sharing are secure and follow guidelines.
    7. A supervising physician for myself is necessary for me to provide care. In addition, I would like a network of other professionals I could refer to as needed. Orthopedic physicians/surgeons, physical therapists, and mental health counselors/therapists.
    8. I would develop protocols for patient progress before appointments. Having them fill out how they are feeling mentally and physically in regards to their injury would be beneficial. I would also develop a protocol to obtain consent from each patient who has not yet had a telehealth appointment with me.
    9. I would send them a consent document for them to read and sign before our first appointment.
